About Me

Hello! My name is Ricardo Bernas. Welcome to my personal website.

I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE) from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), during which I worked in FORTRAN and MATLAB.

Professionally, I have worked for over 7 years as a test systems manager in wireless communications. Starting as an intern, I eventually became the head engineer of one of two highly successful Over-the-Air (OTA) laboratories, while managing and training a team of 10 technicians and engineers.  Through independent study and dedicated mentorship from my superiors, I became the company’s technical lead for AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, 3GPP, 3GPP2, GCF, PTCRB, FCC, A2LA, ISO and CTIA OTA test standards.

In my previous position, I was the head of the world’s 1st laboratory to be AT&T certified for A-GPS OTA testing and validate 4G LTE receiver envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) measurements. I also worked directly with the sales team to optimize testing time efficiency and pricing for our international clients. I am currently looking for a new opportunity in wireless communications.
